Submissions

Currently Western Legends is not open to official submissions. Please check back with us regularly. Your interest is greatly appreciated.

Here’s the deal: we’re open to ideas. We’re really looking for interesting, off-beat, non-standard types of projects. We’re not looking for what everyone else is doing. Not really. Here’s what we’ve put out, to give you some idea.

A book of jackalope-centered horror stories.
A trilogy of anthologies categorizing demons, beasts, and other entities.
A post modern novella about a working slave that plays with format, grammar, and story.
A non-fiction book about the world’s cemeteries.

Does this sound like you? If so, let us know. We’re not doing any official calls. Our projects, up until now, have happened organically, which is how we’d prefer it. We don’t see ourselves competing with other small presses, but offering something different and odd. We’re the kids out back skipping classes. We’re those ones. Some of us got our wings playing in the D.I.Y. punk scene, and this is a big extension of that. The philosophy. The mindset. The fun of it.

  2. John, I was wondering if you would be interested in taking a look at a novel based in the Bizarro Western mold of my book BAD SUNSET. Shapechanging salamander horses, cryptic ooze, Lovecraft by way of Lucio Fulci grimoires, 1,600-year-old Brazilian medicine men, you get the general idea.
